The Announcement Committee of the Board of Visitors met on December 2, 2022 at 9:00 a.m. in Room 411 of Christopher Newport Hall with Rector of the Board of Visitors and Chair of the Announcement Committee, Lindsey Carney Smith, Esq. presiding.

At 9:00 a.m. Chair Carney Smith called the meeting to order and welcomed everyone present. Chair Carney Smith thanked Mr. Pope and Dr. Vreeland for agreeing to serve with her on this ad hoc committee – the Announcement Committee – of the Board of Visitors.
Chair Carney Smith explained that this public meeting was called by the Announcement Committee pursuant to § 2.2-3712(B) of the Code of Virginia, to announce that within the next 15 days, the Board of Visitors will hold a Closed Meeting with search consultant, Buffkin / Baker, at an undisclosed location for the purpose of interviewing candidates for the position of President of Christopher Newport University.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 9:07 a.m.
