Checklist
For questions regarding the Admitted Student System, please contact Orientation at (757) 594–7767 or orientation@cnu.edu.
Your first step toward enrolling at Christopher Newport is to log in to the Admitted Student System and complete the items below:
- Reserve your space by paying the $500 enrollment deposit and registering yourself and any guests for Setting Sail, our summer orientation program.
- Deadlines:
- Early Decision — January 31
- Early Action and Regular Decision — May 1
- The enrollment deposit is mandatory for all incoming freshmen, and is non-refundable. In addition to confirming your decision to join Christopher Newport and reserving your spot in the incoming class, the deposit covers orientation and welcome week food, room, and programming expenses.
- You should pay your enrollment deposit by credit card through the Admitted Student System. Remember — your admission offer is only guaranteed until the deposit deadline. After May 1, students may request to deposit late on a time and space-available basis.
- Deadlines:
- Review the financial aid module and indicate whether or not you have applied, or plan to apply for financial aid for the upcoming school year.
- Build your academic profile (available in February).
- Set your academic interest and Living and Learning Community preferences (available in February).
- Complete your housing contract and choose a meal plan (available in March).
In addition to completing the above items in the Admitted Student System, please be sure to:
- Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by the March 1 priority filing deadline (if you wish to be considered for financial aid).
- Register for Admitted Freshman Day.

- Review Information Technology Services laptop requirements.
- Follow @cnu.2029 on Instagram.
Please note that your offer of admission can be withdrawn under the following conditions:
