The LifeLong Learning Society
The LifeLong Learning Society (LLS) is a membership organization dedicated to people of retirement age who seek opportunities for learning in an environment of sharing and fellowship. There are no requirements as to previous educational experience – intellectual curiosity is the only admission requirement.
Managed by and for its members, LLS is a program of Christopher Newport University and is a member of the Road Scholar LLI Resource Network. Through a variety of activities - including lectures, courses, interest groups, luncheons and field trips - people of diverse backgrounds come together to share a common interest in learning.
Our current program consists of in-person, online and hybrid (both in-person and online) courses and lectures. Online and hybrid courses and lectures are presented via Zoom. Hybrid offerings are indicated by asterisks in the brochure. There is something for everyone!
"The mind, once expanded to the dimensions of larger ideas, never returns to its original size."
- Oliver Wendell Holmes
