Dr. Koon-Magnin began her career at the University of South Alabama (2011-2024) where she won awards for her teaching, academic service, and humanitarian work, before joining the CNU faculty in 2024. Her research examines sexual assault in the United States, with particular focus on how survivors are responded to by individuals, institutions, and society. Her published works have appeared in journals such as Journal of Interpersonal Violence, Violence and Victims, Journal of Criminal Justice, and Violence Against Women. She has also written three books:
