Student Life
Wow, it’s already 2020. Geez. Life goes quickly, huh? I have already been at Christopher Newport for two and a half years, and this time next year, I’ll be starting my last semester. I’m so glad to be back on campus, and I’m ready to hit the ground running this semester! We had a bit of a long winter break, so I am more than well rested to get on with the semester.
When I came back to campus, even though it is still bitterly cold, I feel that spring energy from everyone. I’m so excited for the warm weather and the great memories that this semester will bring. I have some really great plans coming up, and I’m so happy to have my friends and fellow Captains supporting me along the way!
The community feel that we have here at Christopher Newport is something that I really missed while I was away for break. I missed all the people holding doors for me, and the general pleasant environment on campus. I missed Miss Virginia from the Commons and her omelettes. I missed walking around campus and seeing our Community Captains getting acclimated to life as a Captain, along with other future generations of Captains going around on tours.
In short, I kinda really love this place, and I really am so excited to be back. I love having a university that I love, and more importantly, a university that loves me back. I have never felt sad or disappointed to come back home to Christopher Newport. And I think all my fellow Captains would agree. This place has that “it” factor that just makes me light up, no matter what. So, here’s to a successful semester, and I look forward to sharing all my great memories with you!
