Application Deadlines and Plans

Application Plan Deadline Notification
Early Decision (binding) November 15 December 15
Early Action December 1 January 15
Regular Decision February 1 March 15

Early Decision (binding)

By applying Early Decision, you agree to enroll in the fall at Christopher Newport University if you are offered admission. Applying Early Decision ensures that your application will be among the first we review — and if admitted, bring a quick, successful completion to your college search. If we are unable to initially offer you admission, we may defer your application and consider it again during the Regular Decision process. All Early Decision applicants must have the Early Decision Agreement approved by a parent/guardian and a high school counselor electronically through application.

Early Action

The non-binding Early Action program is a great option for students very interested in Christopher Newport, but still considering multiple colleges and unable to commit to one early in the process. The primary benefit of applying Early Action is the chance to have your application reviewed long before the traditional spring notification date.

Regular Decision

This is the final application deadline for freshman admission.
