Confidential Support

The Office of Accessibility and Care Team Support at Christopher Newport University provides a safe and confidential space for students who have experienced or are experiencing traumatic events, including sexual assault, sexual misconduct, relationship violence, stalking, and related concerns.

We are committed to fostering an inclusive, student-centered environment where all students feel heard, supported, and respected. Through compassionate listening, understanding, and individualized support, we connect students with campus and community resources to help meet their needs.

For students who choose to make an official report, our office also offers guidance and support throughout the Title IX process.

Below are exceptions to our office's confidential support ability due to community safety:

  • Intent to harm self or others
  • Suspected abuse or neglect of a minor, elder or other vulnerable adult
  • Response to a subpoena or court order
  • Medical emergency

To connect with a Confidential Support please call (757) 594-7458 or email careteam@cnu.edu.
