Additionally, consider visiting our vendor partners, Hewlett-Packard (HP), Dell and Apple for pricing options and our recommendations for laptops that will work effectively on the CNU network. As a reminder, you will need to maintain an updated anti-virus solution as well as your operating system.

Recommended laptop specifications for incoming students

Operating System Requirements

• Luter School of Business majors: Windows only (required for Microsoft Access)
• All other majors: Windows or macOS

Chromebooks are not supported or recommended for campus use.

Minimum Suggested Hardware Configuration

• Processor: Intel Core i7 or AMD equivalent, Apple M3
• Memory: 16GB+ (Windows)
• Storage: 500GB SSD
• Graphics: Dependent on your major and specific needs
• Wireless capabilities: Required
• Warranty: Four-year manufacturer warranty covering hardware and accidental damage

Software

Microsoft Office 365 is provided free to all enrolled CNU students.
