Polling
Wason Center for Civic Leadership Polling
For more than a decade, the Wason Center for Civic Leadership has been a trusted, nonpartisan source for polling on elections and public policy. Our surveys inform conversations among Virginians and their leaders, strengthening the democratic process by highlighting the issues that matter most.
Each election season, we conduct polls on key races, from president and Congress to the Virginia General Assembly and statewide offices such as governor, lieutenant governor, and attorney general. We also incorporate policy questions into our election surveys to show where voters stand on pressing issues. Beyond election cycles, we run policy-focused polls throughout the year, including our annual State of the Commonwealth Survey, which provides insight into the debates before the Virginia General Assembly.
How We Work
Our surveys are designed to reflect the voices of Virginians across the Commonwealth. Using random digit dialing and survey weighting, we ensure results represent the state’s demographics and regions. Every question is written with care to be clear, unbiased, and fair.
Training the Next Generation
The Wason Center provides valuable hands-on experience for Wason Scholars, who help write questions, collect responses, and analyze results each year. This mentorship develops future leaders in public opinion research and civic engagement.
