Students whose complaints remain unresolved through the internal process overseen by the University may contact Christopher Newport University’s accreditor, the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC), at 1866 Southern Lane, Decatur, Georgia 30033-4097 or by phone at (404) 679-4500 in accordance with SACSCOC complaint procedures.

Constitution Day is September 17 each year and commemorates the signing of the United States Constitution on September 17, 1787. The University library offers many books and electronic resources regarding the United States Constitution. Our librarians and staff are happy to assist you in finding great resources. Contact them for more information and assistance.

September 12, 2024 - A debate was hosted in Peebles Theatre by the CNU Center for American Studies and students, faculty and staff were welcome to attend.

The Center for American Studies provides an experience that students can attend events surrounding the Constitution. Please visit their website for more updated information each year.

You can register to vote in the state of Virginia online at the following website. You can also download a paper voter registration form. The website also provides information on registration deadlines and the option of same day voter registration, allowing you to submit a provisional ballot.

Students with the intent to withdraw from Christopher Newport begin the process by submitting a University Withdrawal form to the Office of the Registrar. More information about the process can be found in the undergraduate catalog.
