Tuition has not been increased since the 2018-19 academic year.

Read time:

Christopher Newport University’s Board of Visitors will meet on June 29, 2022, in the David Student Union Board Room, at 9 a.m., to set the 2022-23 tuition and fee schedule for all in-state and out-of-state undergraduate and graduate students. This is rescheduled from the originally announced dates of April 14, 2022 and June 8, 2022.

As required by Code of Virginia Section 23.1-307(d), the Board of Visitors provides 30-day notice that it will consider increasing tuition and mandatory fees between zero and 10%.

The revenue generated by tuition and fees will be used to fund the university’s share of any state-mandated compensation and fringe benefit increases, support student financial aid and increased cost escalations in contractual services, as well as cost escalations in other non-personnel services. The exact use and amount of tuition revenue necessary will be contingent upon budget actions of the governor and General Assembly during the 2022 Special Legislative Session.

Christopher Newport's tuition has not been increased since the 2018-19 academic year.

A public comment session was offered on Tuesday, March 29, 2022.
