Based on its affordability and strong student outcomes, Christopher Newport has been named one of the 75 Best Value Small Colleges and Universities in the country by SmartAsset.

CNU is ranked 10th amongst similar sized institutions. It is one of three universities in Virginia to earn a place on the national list.

SmartAsset, an online financial technology company, evaluated more than 1,000 U.S. colleges and universities with undergraduate enrollments of fewer than 5,000 students to identify the best values.

Using data from the U.S. Department of Education's College Scorecard, SmartAsset identified 527 universities with average cost of attendance- including books, tuition, fees and living expenses - below the median for similar sized institutions. Each was assigned a composite score based on its graduation rate and the median earnings of alumni 10 years after graduation. The 75-highest scoring colleges and universities were named the best value schools.

CNU has committed to making a Christopher Newport education as affordable as possible. It is also focused on ensuring Captains for Life are well prepared to succeed, as 94 percent are either employed or pursuing graduate education within a year of graduation.
